    The 3 year BSc course at Lancaster University is a highly regarded course, with Lancaster University ranking 10th in the country at the time of my graduation.
    I studied a number of modules, both statistical and pure, where my favourites were the "hands-on" modules. Analysing data (using the statistical programming language R) and applying theories to real world situations is something I really enjoyed, as well as producing attractive documents using the LaTeX markup language. In my first year, I minored in Mandarin Chinese, which I picked because I wanted to learn something different and new. This was a stark contrast to Mathematics, and I was able to apply the new language when I spent three weeks studying in Beijing as part of Manchester University's Study China programme.

    Part of the BBC Broadcast Engineering Trainee scheme, I am currently studying for an MSc in Broadcast Engineering. It's an intense course, requiring high levels of motivation and time management skills.
    The main areas of interest have been IP Network Technology and Media Distribution Solutions and Architectures.

    Children

    Through a volunteering scheme during 6th form, I spent one afternoon a week at Cleve House School, primarily renewing and maintaining their computer system and teaching IT skills to the students of years 2, 3 and 4. I was also given the opportunity to attend school trips, helping to ensure the wellbeing of the students. I was given a lot of responsibility and trust by the school's head teachers.
